Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to sell you a course and let you log back into it. We do not sell personal information.
Last updated February 2026
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, and your name if you provide one. This is what identifies your account and where we send login links and receipts.
Purchase information. The fact that you bought the course, when, the amount, and a payment reference from Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.
Learning activity. Which lessons you have opened or completed, and quiz results. This drives your progress tracking.
Technical data. Standard server and error logs, including IP address and browser type, generated when you use the site.
Browsing the free guides and glossary does not require an account and does not require you to give us any personal information.
Why we collect it
To take payment, to give you access to what you bought, to track your progress, to reply when you contact us, to keep the platform secure and working, and to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
Who processes it for us
Stripe processes payments and holds the card data directly. Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Hosting and content delivery providers serve the site. Each of these processes data only to provide their service to us. Some may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where local law may permit access by authorities there.
Cookies
We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary for the site to work — chiefly keeping you signed in and running checkout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and progress data is kept while your account exists. Because course access is lifetime, that is indefinite unless you ask us to delete it. Transaction records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Technical logs are kept for a short operational period.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and applicable provincial legislation) you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Deleting your account ends course access permanently and cannot be reversed. Email the address on our contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, access to course content and personal data is restricted by row-level database rules tied to your account, and administrative access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold.
Children
This site is intended for people working or training in the electrical trade. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated by email where we hold one.
